Red Flag Day Preparations

Be ready to go on Red Flag Days

Move flammable items away from your house (patio furniture, door mats, etc.) or inside away from windows. Make sure leaves and anything burnable is at least 5 feet from the house.

Gas up your evacuation car and park it facing out so you can drive away.

Review your Go Bags and place them either by the door or in the car.

Have pet cages and supplies handy or in the car.

If you have a tent and sleeping bag, put them in the car also, in case you have to shelter with distance from others.

Review the items that you want in your Ten Minute Bag (medicines, ice pack, etc)

Review with everybody in your household how to get in contact if you get separated.

Don’t depend on Red Cross or shelter operators - things may be chaotic for a while.

Family Go Bag.

Remember: Can you leave in five minutes? Batteries and water age out. Household needs change. So this is a good month to get out your bag and review.
